medical imaging with effective prep for the ARRT Radiography exam.
The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT®) Radiography certification is a nationally recognized credential for radiologic technologists who perform diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment. Earning the ARRT RAD credential demonstrates your competence in producing high-quality diagnostic images while prioritizing patient care, radiation safety, and professional standards in clinical practice.
Candidates must meet ARRT eligibility requirements, which include completing an ARRT-approved educational program in radiography, demonstrating competency in required clinical procedures, and complying with the ARRT Standards of Ethics. All education and ethics requirements must be satisfied before applying to take the exam. The ARRT Radiography exam is computer-based and consists of 200 multiple-choice questions (175 scored and 25 pilot questions). Candidates are given 3.5 hours to complete the exam. Exam content is based on the ARRT Radiography Content Specifications and assesses knowledge across major domains such as patient care, safety (including radiation protection), image production, and radiographic procedures.
ARRT Radiography certification must be maintained through annual registration, adherence to ethical standards, and completion of continuing education requirements. Technologists must complete continuing education credits every two years and meet Continuing Qualifications Requirements (CQR) as applicable. Earning the ARRT® RAD credential demonstrates your readiness to practice as a qualified radiologic technologist and your commitment to delivering safe, accurate, and patient-centered imaging services.
