Take the first step toward top-tier
safety credentials by earning the ASP credentials.
The Associate Safety Professional® (ASP11) certification, offered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), is a highly respected credential designed for safety practitioners looking to advance their careers and work toward the prestigious CSP certification. Earning the ASP11 demonstrates a strong foundation in safety principles, risk management, and program implementation, making it an ideal step for professionals committed to workplace safety excellence.
The ASP11 exam covers essential topics in the safety field, including safety program development, risk assessment, hazard identification and control, fire prevention, environmental management, and emergency preparedness. Candidates are also tested on ergonomics, accident investigation, safety training, and regulatory compliance. The goal of the exam is to validate your ability to apply safety concepts in real-world scenarios and support organizational safety initiatives.
To be eligible for the ASP11 exam, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any field or an associate degree in safety, health, or the environment. Additionally, candidates must have at least one year of professional safety experience where safety duties make up at least 50% of the job role. The exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions and must be completed within 5 hours. Like the CSP, the ASP certification requires ongoing maintenance every five years through continuing education and professional development activities.
