NREMT AEMT Exam Guide
The AEMT certification lets the public, healthcare providers, employers, and others know that you have the knowledge and skills to work safely and effectively. Before you can apply for AEMT certification, you must have an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license or certification and you must be enrolled in an initial education program.
The AEMT exam will have 100 questions that count toward your final score. It will have 35 questions that do not affect your score. The decision regarding passing or failing the exam is based on the following question: “Has the candidate reached the level of entry-level competency (passed) or has the candidate not yet reached entry-level competency (failed)?” The passing standard is the same for all candidates.

- Cardiology & Resuscitation
- Medical; Obstetrics/Gynecology
- EMS Operations
- 500 Practice Questions
- 5 Content Subjects
- 1,250 Happy Users
- Show Flagged Questions Only

- The face, including eyes
- The spine
- The lungs
- The heart
