The ASQ® Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) exam is also offered by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and is suitable for professionals who assist with data collection and analysis for projects, as well as those who lead Green Belt projects or support Black Belt projects. This certification is beneficial for individuals aiming to contribute to organizational improvement through the application of Six Sigma principles.
The ASQ® CSSGB exam covers the foundational elements of Six Sigma, focusing on the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) framework. Candidates are tested on their understanding of data collection, process mapping, root cause analysis, and improvement methodologies. Topics such as team leadership, project management, and statistical analysis are included to assess a candidate's ability to lead smaller improvement projects or assist in larger ones. The exam emphasizes practical application of Six Sigma tools to drive quality improvements in an organization.
Eligibility for the CSSGB requires three years of work experience in one or more areas of the Six Sigma Body of Knowledge. The exam can be taken computer-delivered or by paper and pencil. The computer-delivered exam comprises 110 multiple-choice questions and has a time limit of 4 hours and 18 minutes, while the paper and pencil exam comprises 100 multiple-choice questions and has a time limit of 4 hours.
