The LEED Accredited Professional in Interior Design and Construction (LEED AP ID+C) exam is also offered by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)® and is intended for professionals who focus on sustainable practices in the design and construction of interior spaces. This certification is ideal for interior designers, architects, and construction professionals who work on green building projects.
The LEED AP ID+C exam focuses on sustainable interior design and construction, covering topics such as space planning, energy conservation, materials selection, and indoor air quality. Candidates are tested on their ability to implement LEED strategies to minimize environmental impact while optimizing indoor environments. The exam also evaluates knowledge of sustainable furnishings, waste management, and innovative energy solutions for interior spaces. Practical experience in managing LEED projects related to interior design is advantageous for candidates taking the exam.
To be eligible for the LEED AP ID+C exam, candidates must hold a current LEED Green Associate credential and be at least 18 years old. Prior LEED-registered project experience is strongly recommended. The exam includes 100 multiple-choice questions with a two-hour time limit. Passing the exam awards the credential and is valid for two years requiring 15 continuing education hours to maintain.
