Elevate your transport nursing career with
effective prep for the CTRN® exam, designed to help you soar confidently through your test.
The BCEN CTRN® (Certified Transport Registered Nurse) certification is designed for experienced nurses who provide critical care during ground transport. Offered by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN), this credential validates your ability to manage complex patient care in high-pressure environments on the road.
To be eligible, you must hold a current, unrestricted RN license. It is strongly recommended that candidates have at least two years of clinical experience in critical care or emergency nursing, with a focus on patient transport.
The CTRN® exam content outline focuses on critical topics such as Clinical Practice, Trauma, Medical Emergencies, Patient Care Management, and Professional Issues. Each area is designed to assess your clinical judgment, decision-making, and readiness to deliver exceptional care in prehospital and interfacility ground transport settings.
The CTRN® exam includes 130 scored questions and 25 pretest items, all to be completed within a 3-hour time limit. The certification is valid for four years and can be renewed by completing continuing education or passing the exam again. Earning the CTRN® proves your expertise in delivering safe, evidence-based care in dynamic transport situations.

Discovered this app while prepping for the CEN, and continued to use it to prepare for the CFRN. I passed both exams! The rationales for the answers are very helpful, and the question formats are very similar to the actual exams. I’ll keep this downloaded on my phone just in case I decide to go after another cert!
