The CCMC CCM® (Certified Case Manager) credential, administered by the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC), is widely recognized as the gold standard in case management certification. Earning the CCM® demonstrates a professional's expertise in coordinating care, advocating for clients, facilitating access to resources, and navigating complex healthcare and reimbursement systems. The credential is valued across healthcare organizations, insurance companies, government agencies, rehabilitation programs, and community-based settings.
The CCM® examination is based on the most recent CCMC Role and Function Study and assesses knowledge and application across six domains of case management practice. The current exam blueprint allocates content as follows: Care Management (30%), Psychosocial Concepts and Support Systems (20%), Ethical, Legal, and Practice Standards (18%), Reimbursement Methods (12%), Quality and Outcomes Evaluation and Measurements (10%), and Rehabilitation Concepts and Strategies (10%). The examination consists of 180 multiple-choice questions, including 150 scored items and 30 unscored pretest items used for future exam development. Candidates are allotted 3.5 hours to complete the examination.

The current exam blueprint allocates content as follows: Care Management (30%), Psychosocial Concepts and Support Systems (20%), Ethical, Legal, and Practice Standards (18%), Reimbursement Methods (12%), Quality and Outcomes Evaluation and Measurements (10%), and Rehabilitation Concepts and Strategies (10%). The examination consists of 180 multiple-choice questions, including 150 scored items and 30 unscored pretest items used for future exam development. Candidates are allotted 3.5 hours to complete the examination.
