“I am an aspiring Veterinary Technician. I started my journey because I have always loved animals and wanted to help them. When I started my program I didn’t have any clinical experience to help me with my academic studies. Upon completion of the program I was able to gain clinical experience as a part of the program, but still had very limited experiences to work from.

After I completed my academic education I was seeking tools to help me to prepare for the VTNE to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. I spent about 3 months studying and took the first exam I could after graduation, but I didn’t pass because I struggled to truly know my weak areas, and I get really bad test anxiety. So, I made the decision that day that I was going to do everything that I could to get a better understanding of where I was weak in my comprehension and work on building it up.

I found Pocket Prep and I loved that I had this sort of tool available on my phone so that I could study on the go. I made use of the Questions of The Day as much as possible, and regularly would complete short 10 question exams. I answered every question that was in the study program, and would write down questions that I wanted to understand better along with the explanation for why a certain answer was the correct answer.

After completing every question in the program, I still continued with my Questions of the Day and 10 question exams working toward improving my comprehension in the categories that the VTNE created. I liked being able to see how well I was understanding each category. This gave me an idea of where I needed to focus my study efforts as the exam date neared.”

Jessica used Pocket Prep alongside other recommended study tools to give herself exposure to the varying types of questions. She focused on getting each subject area to a comprehensive percentage between 73-83%. This gave her a clear understanding of the material as well as the areas she needed a bit of help. And when it came to test day, she had a boost in confidence.

“On test day, I felt like I had seen many of the questions or at least some version of them previously. I am still very much “newer” to this field than many others I’m aware of, but I worked hard, and I am now able to say that I not only passed my program, but that I passed my VTNE the second time, thanks to Pocket Prep.

I am not what some would consider a “traditional” success story because I failed. But, I didn’t let that failure stop me from chasing my dream of helping animals. It took me two attempts at the VTNE to pass, but I could not have done it without the help of Pocket Prep. I am a Pocket Prep Success Story.”
