Like many IT professionals looking to advance their careers, Brian knew he wanted to acquire multiple IT certifications. He found our IT & Cybersecurity app and started studying for multiple exams all in one place.

“I knew I wanted multiple certifications and Pocket Prep had access to the exams I needed. It was important to me to have study material that would help me focus on the areas that needed the most attention.

For me, these two methods worked really well together.

My process for studying involved a few methods. I drive a lot so I would download exam audio books and listen to them whenever I was in the car. When I wasn’t driving, I’d use Pocket Prep to take practice tests. If I could remember the material as well as I can remember song lyrics, I’d be the smartest human in the world. 🙂

It isn't about remembering the knowledge, it is about applying the knowledge.

I also tried to focus a lot on missed questions. For the CISSP and CISM, focusing on why I missed the questions really helped me to understand the question and that played well with the actual test. It isn’t about remembering the knowledge, it is about applying the knowledge.

Using the Build Your Own Quiz feature helped me a lot. I would always put in the unanswered questions first, and after I was finished with those I would select my missed questions for my next BYO Quiz. That’s where the real studying comes in.

When I passed, I was overwhelmed with relief and excitement. It was a moment of, “I do know what I am talking about.”

Pocket Prep gave me the single point of access I needed to help me train.”
